Is it cruel to have pets on the truck?

A trucker I knew a few years ago had this cat on his truck.
The cat escaped *twice* and because the cat had tags, the cat kept getting returned to him.

It seems like cats aren’t good truck mates.
Cats are sensitive to infrasound, and vibrations, and doesn’t seem a good environment for a cat to live long term.

I also am not sure if dogs really enjoy trucking life, because they’re forced to be cooped up all day, and might also be sensitive to infrasound and vibrations. They don’t have a choice not to be on the truck.

Is it cruel?
