Currently a company driver, and this morning I hit a boulder while backing up and it completely tore off the front bumper. As a company driver, this will take away my safety bonus and reduce my governed speed for the next year.
My plan was to save up and go o/o when the time was right. As o/o, I would have just repaired the front bumper and moved on, no accident reported. But as company driver, this is reported as an accident, right? How would this affect my insurance rate once I go o/o?
Edit for clarification: I’m not currently o/o. My company will repair this and count it as an accident, take away safety bonus, reduce governed speed, etc. My question was more along the lines of “in a few months if I go o/o, will this affect my insurance, since the company counted it as an accident?”
