This is my first cdl job, I’m 19. It’s a local job usually working with flatbeds doubles, or reefers. We mainly work with fruit so right now there is not much work. Currently I’m making 500-600 a week gross. I get paid per load or per hour 17.00 whichever makes more. I usually do 2-3 loads a day making 130-195. 5 days a week 6-9 hrs usually. Even when there’s a lot of work the most I’ve earned gross is 1000 it’s rare. I’ve so far been fine with it since I’m trying to get my experience up. I’m planning to get a year of experience then moving to a well paying job. My brother insists that no cdl job should be paying close to minimum wage. I’m just trying to get opinions whether it’s reasonable to stay with them or not.
