As the title says, I got my permit 3 weeks ago. I worked my normal job for a week, and then my company sent me to trucking school for their 2 week fast track training, and I passed my test today on my first try. I’m honestly surprised, at the start I thought there was no possible way I’d learn to shift, back, do maneuvers, safely handle a truck, and learn the brake test and entire pre trip.
It was definitely intense, but now that it’s over I feel extremely relieved and happy. As of right now I’m training to become a driver trainer for one of the big transportation companies, but honestly I want to go over the road and actually become a driver instead of just following a companies guidelines but not having the experience. Any recommendations for companies for new drivers?
