Thinking of becoming a driver and have a kidney transplant, I MUST get my medications filled every 2-3 weeks from a mail order specialty pharmacy, most insurance wont let you order more than a months worth at a time, and I must take my medicine exactly 12hrs apart. How would this work as a new OTR driver where your training is on the road for a month, or when you’re away from home for weeks or or a month/months at a time?
I’m assuming when you know you’re getting low after a couple weeks you could request to go home to get them, or maybe there is an exception for OTR drivers where they can order MORE than a months worth of meds?
Maybe someone who has a specialty prescriptions can help clear this up.
