I want to be clear I’m not looking for any charity here just advice.
My son is on the spectrum. He’s 7, and since he was 2 is just super into trucks. He adores them. It started with Mack from Cars and went from there. It’s helped us bond and this is what he loves, so I’m all in on it.
I want to find a way for him to see one up close. I’ve tried calling companies, and I’m not asking for anything for free, but understandably, their focus is their work not on things like this. I get it. I’ve offered hundreds of dollars and willing to come to them but I get the feeling it feels like I’m trying to scam them and I get that too since it’s so random, it’s not their fault.
Our local fire department was super supportive but it’s not the same for him (he has hyper fixations) and he gets scared easily.
I just want to make this a reality and I don’t know where to ask. Are there sites or companies that would help? Places? I don’t know where to go. All I can think is maybe going to a truck stop or something but with my kid involved that makes me really nervous.
If anyone can just… give me some direction, I would be so, so appreciative. My son has trouble communicating verbally and I just want him to know I understand and support his interests and give him a big fun moment.
