Interviewing for a new tanker job and don’t know a ton about it so bear with me.
Job is a regional hazmat tanker job pulling 3-4 axle trailers across a few different states + Canada. Pays by the hour for all on-duty & driving time. Mostly hauling propane and maybe other types of petroleum products. Probably maxing out your clock in the winter and maybe 55-60 hours/wk in the summer. Gotta commute to the yard Sunday night/Monday morning and go home Friday night. Commute is 1-2 hours. Lots of mountain driving and pretty sure it’s all 18spd Kenworths. I don’t know if OT is offered.
What would you need to make by the hour to leave a job you like but are likely to be laid off from in the next few months? I’m trying to decide between this and moving glass/heavy equipment regionally but that’s a cpm job.
