How far in advance do drivers plan trips?

Good Morning, Afternoon, or Evening,

I work for a brokerage company and I’m wondering why does it seem drivers seem hesitant to book trips/lanes 2-3 days in advance?

Is it the weather? Road hazards? Personal time off? Holidays? Market Rates?

I’m working a project to help set a better time expectation for moving freight by creating a schedule in advance but it seems impossible.

Most drivers seem to want to cover loads no more than 1 day in advance and I think we can be more efficient with scheduling.

Any feedback back welcome please feel free to be blunt.
