Typically I am okay, but been going through a weird patch of loneliness the last week or so. The wife and I chat on the phone at very minimum once a day but sometimes could be 2-3 different times throughout the day. And obviously texting her when i can.
Calling friends and/or a couple other drivers at my company periodically to shoot the shit sometimes.
I’m looking into going Local in the future, but i do enjoy the fact that I’m utilizing a lot of my time towards this new life style and being a sponge everyday, soaking up as much knowledge as i can to make me a better driver. The money isn’t “horrible” rn, and Flatbed has definitely grown on me.. (Just not when it’s windy as fuck and i’m trying to throw straps/roll my tarps. Lol)
Sometimes it just hits me at weird times with how little human interaction there is lol. I don’t consider shipper/receiver much of a human interaction. “Go and stage up at X and wait to be loaded/unloaded. Wear proper PPE or we will kick you out” Lol.
What’s your go-to for handling loneliness when you’re out on the road?
Thinking i’ll just start taking my 10 parking across 5 pumps to get some more interaction… Jokes lol.
Thanks 🙏🏻
