Technology’s getting insanely smart and efficient these days. And our late stage capitalist system is all about making more money, companies are looking to cut costs wherever they can. One big way they’re want to do this soon? Making jobs that people do replaceable by machines, especially jobs that are super repetitive.
It’s crazy how much truck driving will change soon like it or not. The industry’s on the brink of a huge change. I’m betting that in the next 10 years, trucks are gonna have this always-on self-driving mode. Kinda like how trucks now have speed governers set by the company, but way more invasive. They’ll likely put cheaper drivers behind the wheel and chip away at it until drivers are completely out the cabin.
I think about this stuff all the time and just like cars have gotten so complex for the simplest things soon the same will be for Tractors as well. I’m sure we’ll have a sizable number of people who try to resist it but eventually because of the world we live in it won’t be viable to find parts for older tractors or they’ll be too boutique to afford to a work truck.
Idk I just want to discuss this topic and see what people thought about it.
