I’m a relatively new dispatcher and looking at the situation of the market I wonder how OwnerOPs even get by in times such as these.
One of my truckers and I basically agreed to keep him very close to his home and that he will only do short hauls because that’s the only way he’s making some reasonable money because he can do multiple in a week as opposed to long hauls posted on DAT that have more miles then dollars in them so to speak.
We got to this arrangement after we had trouble scoring good paying loads in Chicago, OH and east coast. At least this way even if things go south and there’s no freight he’s relatively close to home.
