HOS For Split shift?

I have a potential employer that wants me to run a local route, with a split shift. Even though it is a local position he runs logbooks. I would be running 2 loads a day, first one early in the morning for about 4 hours then the truck would be parked at the yard and I would go home. Then come back in the evening and run another 4 hour load. My question is from my first load to my last drop off will be about a 16 hour window. Even though I’m off for a good 6-8 hours in between loads is this legal? Thanks for any help
