Hood damage

Hi guys, I think I have a bit of a problem. I am currently on probation with my first employer (driven 9 months) and I have noticed I have damage on my hood and I don’t know exactly where it came from. I called my dispatch last week when I first noticed it but she made it seem like as long as it doesn’t affect my driving, don’t worry about it. Am I supposed to tell my company’s safety department? I don’t want it to seem like I’m hiding something. I do have two small incidents on my record and I’m really not trying to volunteer information if I don’t have to.

Also, if is a problem that causes me to be terminated, will offering to pay for damages make it any better?
