Going over scales a few miles from my terminal and I got pulled in for being overweight on drives. There were things on my trailer that weren’t logged/on my manifest but I pulled the weight back nbd.
But this opened my up for a full inspection. Inspector said my brake lights weren’t working and one of my tandem pins wasn’t locked both oos violations. I locked the pin, pulled my pigtail out, put it back in and brakes work. They also worked when I left the terminal but had somehow either wiggles around or had a bad connection.
Officer said doesn’t matter it didn’t work during inspection. Got a small ticket and on my way. My company will pay for ticket nbd there but Im giving my two weeks today because I accepted another job I’d been waiting to hear back from for a few weeks and they finally called.
Will these types of tickets typically deter future employers? I could see if someone was speeding or had wrecks and stuff but idk to me these things seem minor and immediate corrective action was taken. Both oos violations and the weigh distribution was fixed before he brought out my inspection report and ticket.
