Hey drivers .. so, I’ve had my CDL since 2008, I’ve done it all, otr, local, regional tanker, skateboard, reefer etc etc etc… I decided in October 2020 that I needed a break. I was doing dry van for knight and the lifestyle just sucked at the time… Truck stops are like home and the pandemic just made it suck and knight has a bad habit of giving late freight then having you run like a crazy person to get it “on time”.. anyways.. it was time for a respite.. so I quit trucking and moved to the mountains and spent the last almost 3 years at a back country lodge cooking. It was pretty cool. But, the open road beckons! This time around, my girl is coming with me. (She does not and WILL NOT get her CDL lol… I’ve tried to convince her but she won’t budge…yet) So I’ll still be considered solo and I’m not interested in teaming anyway.. just want to do dry van again. Possibly reefer if the company is right.. what I’m asking y’all is, if you know any good SMALL companies. I’m trying to avoid the mega carriers as Knight was not at all what they said they would be.. obviously. I’m also not in a huge hurry.. I have jury duty in July, and some family functions throughout the summer.. looking to start applying in early to mid September.. sorry to ramble on.. thanks for any suggestions.. I’ll also be happy to use you as a referral if it comes to that and your company offers a bonus.
