Just wanted quick verification because I think my local DMV is screwing me. I tested for my class A years ago in a manual so my only restriction I’ve ever had since then was for eye glasses. Recently I’ve decided to do some seasonal work in Alaska which I needed a passenger endorsement for. Passed the skills test last week and go to get it put on my license and they give me an E restriction since the bus was an auto. I look up the restriction online and nowhere does it state that the E restriction is *ONLY* when in a passenger/school bus. Am I correct in saying that the DMV has now restricted me to automatics even in combination rigs?
I’m 99% sure I’m just dealing with stupidity down at the office. Since I have an A but tested passenger/school bus in a class B vehicle, I should have been given an M restriction which is not on my license. Also, instead of carrying over my tanker endorsement, they gave me an X endorsement which is hazmat/tanker.
Sorry if this seems like an amateur question. I’ve had my CDL for years but used it very little before I joined the military. I’ve been completely away from the trucking industry for some time. Trying to get spun back up on it before the summer work season has been a chore.
Thanks for any help y’all give
