I was involved in a single person accident late last year. I was driving the work spare truck with known issues (blown turbo). I was told by a coworker that he was told by the company I was 30 in a 25 on a ramp.
I haven’t been fired, I have a few broken bones, but have been okayed to return to work for light duty work. I’ve heard they can’t fire you for the accident itself, but once you’re back on the job they’ll find any reason to get rid of you.
Was thinking about getting my own truck but I’d assume my insurance rates would be high, and might not even find work due to the accident? Does anybody have any insight?
Kinda beating myself up about not buying this 80s r model Mack dump truck (pictured) 250k on the dash (maybe it rolled over)? Sold at auction for under 10k running. Problem is I don’t know if I even have a future in trucking due to the accident
