Thanks to anyone that takes time to read this and just don’t have anyone to turn to.
It has been so difficult to me to get used to this lifestyle. Especially, have suffer from depression and it’s coming back from always being alone in this truck and just been very lonely and finally broke down cried.
Anyways, last night I messed up. There was an accident on I95 Northbound in Savannah. I had about 4.5 hours left on my clock and took about 5 hours to start moving. I went into driving violation. Well I couldn’t find any parking. So, I decided to park on the on ramp on a rest area. Well another driver called me in. My FM called me and asking questions and I told him what happened. He said well you should have tripped planned better. Well I told him how do you trip plan for a fatality and being in stand still traffic. He proceeded to say that if safety find out that it is a determination offense. So, now I’m playing the waiting game. I did call in last night to safety and communicate with night dispatch what was going on.
Just been feeling like a complete loser and then this happened.
Thanks for reading just needed to get it off my chest. Hope everyone has a good day.
Summary version: I work for Werner. Been here for 9 months. Last night there was an accident that cause me to go over my HOS. I had 4.5 hours left and my pick up was 2 hours away and was going to end my day at shipper. Got a written warning for HOS violation today. Another Werner driver called me in because I was parked on the on ramp at a rest area because no other parking available at midnight. FM said that it’s a termination offense and I should trip plan better. Not sure if safety knows as of now or if I will be terminated. Also PC has been removed since the beginning of the year.
