I aced my pretrip and missed only one thing. Nailed my straight back and offset, but had a bad setup on my alley dock, forgot to account for it so was way, way, WAY too early, and I got stuck in my head and kept trying to force it instead of just resetting my setup, and failed it. The tester even mentioned that I knew where the trailer needed to be, but I was too nervous and stuck in my own head. Ugh.
I’m still not confident in my alley docking. I’m going to be getting some tutoring later, then testing again the day after. I can get it in well enough if I have a good setup, but I’m not quite confident about correcting. The truck is a Cascadia sleeper cab with a 48 ft trailer.
Do you guys have any tips or tricks you use when you turn in too soon or too late? Do you have any reference points on the truck or trailer?
