Do truckers still blow their horns to kids who make the motion?

Not a trucker here, but a dad with super fond memories of truckers being cool and blowing their horns when me and my friends would pump our arms up and down. I’ve told my kids about it, but they think I’m lying. We do it to every truck we see on the interstate, but haven’t had any luck. Is this still a thing? Have I got my kids hopes up for nothing?
