I got my CDL-A last November, decided to try flat bedding with Melton. I did not like the ridiculous hours , my trainer convinced me that this is how it is and I need to start my deliveries from like midnight to about 2am or else I would not succeed with the company. So I left after the training. Started applying to locals, and an Ice cream company hired me on to do local routes in a Non CDL truck and sometimes drive a Class B truck when needed. It pays ok but not sure the amount of hours I work there really adds up either. Average like 12-14 or more hours a day. I thought about trying with Mccelroy. I am ok with working like 60 hours a week if the pay is good.
