I couldn’t find a group specific to dealership trade drivers, so I figured that perhaps some truckers started out driving for a dealership and maybe I can find an answer here. I just signed up for some extra hours driving for a dealership. I will be driving cars two different locations for trades. I just got asked to take my first drive, which is a group of us each driving individually, and then coming home in a big van together. The drive is 6 hours one way. My concern is being stuck in a vehicle with five other people that may potentially stink. Smoke is my biggest concern. Although I know that they would not be allowed to smoke in the vehicle, it still sticks to their clothes and gives me migraines. But I’m wondering if maybe isn’t a job that smokers typically take anyway because they aren’t allowed to smoke in the cars? I’m really hoping that I end up with a good group of people and don’t have to worry about this but I want to know other people’s experiences with doing a delivery as a team. I signed up for this job so that I could be alone and my first drive is going to be with other people so I’m nervous. But at least if I try it the first time and hate it I can just say no in the future and that I prefer to be alone.
