Hey Trucker reddit, sorry to beat a dead horse and if this isn’t allowed here I understand, I just turned 21 years old this year and was interested in getting my CDL A. My first option is Crum Trucking out of Batesville IN, they pay a percentage of the load to the driver with a weekly minimum as long as you were running all week, I believe the percentage is 26%. Depending on the route options I choose it could be a $1200 minimum, a $1700 minimum or a $2000 minimum per week. They offer a trucking school with a two year contract, the orientation is unpaid but the finishing school pays 600 a week flat rate until you are a solo driver, but if you are not with the company 2 years then you have to pay the schooling back (4,500). The company is family owned and they do have a pet policy and a passenger policy both being available after 6 months. My question being, does anyone have any experience with Crum trucking out of Batesville Indiana or would I benefit from paying for my own CDL, the only places local to me (within an hours drive or so is Crum and Mr. P express). Any knowledge or help is appreciated, I’m tired of working a dead end retail job and want a career change.
