So I am freaking out a bit over having lost my CDL after driving 25 years.

Here is how it happened. I changed jobs a year ago to a regular joe indoor (office) type job 2 days before my Medical came due to be renewed. I did not renew the medical card because , what for , right? Arizona suspended my commercial privilege. I figured as much even though its complete bullshit the drivers license borough somehow needs to be involved in keeping a medical card on file and up to date , but that’s just another issue. It has not always been this way for anyone wondering it used to be between the company and the driver. Anyway, no biggie I am not gonna be driving at my new job.
1 year later after much suffering from open road fever , I decide I am going to go back to trucking because that’s all I think about is how much I miss it. I go get my physical done and go to DMV to get it posted and got the shock of my life. Lady says , no sorry sir your license needs to be downgraded for not having a physical associated with it for over a year. My knees seriously buckled I am floored. This is bullshit OMG what the hell , all that jazz rushing through my mind. Nobody told me this would happen , no warnings I never read this or anything. I leave feeling devastated and lost.
Now I don’t know what I am to do and see myself having to go to some stupid ass CDL school and get robbed for thousands of dollars to get a new CDL. I see myself working for some trash outfit having to pay off the tuition or something. Tons of stuff racing though my mind. I am however determined but just need to figure out the cheapest , easiest way to get my CDL back. I feel absolutely horrible about how I let this happen , and just wanted to share the story so that just maybe 1 person sees this and does not end up in the same boat at me. A 25 year driver faced with going to Swift Driving school after all these years and being a noob all over again.
