My fiancé works as a dispatcher for OSP and called me while I was driving tonight with a couple of stories about calls she received pertaining to truck drivers. One is kind of fucked, the other is pretty funny.
First one she tells me is about a gentleman who called about a semi truck that had not cut him off, but simply got in his lane, so he pulled up to the tractor’s passenger side and fired multiple rounds into the cab, then proceeds to the driver side and fires 4 more. The guy that called about this incident? The one who fired the rounds. It was chalked up as a road rage incident and luckily, the driver was only hit in the arm, but be weary of the people surrounding you, truckers. There are people who don’t like being behind us, I guess.
Onto something a little more lighthearted… She receives a call from a gentleman at a truck stop claiming his truck and trailer were stolen. He had just came out of the showers at truck stop and discovered his truck was no longer present. After OSP searches for the truck in a few counties, my lovely dispatcher is informed that the gentleman’s team driver had driven away thinking his partner had been sleeping in the berth.
