Contracts?? I

So my SO just finished his 5 week training with Swift to get his CDL and signed his contract. But now I’m wondering if he shouldn’t have put all his eggs into that basket? He’ll only bring home 41k over the next 12 months (which isn’t bad but I can’t work and we have kids so it’s not great) and I heard some companies will pay for/refund your schooling and train you from scratch (for lack of better phrase).

Is that something he could actually do or is he locked into that contract for a year? I don’t really know how contracts work as I only worked retail in the past ????

Any advice appreciated!!
