Considering a trucking career, what should I expect?

Especially OTR, but I’ve heard good things about LTL/fuel/hazmat as well.

I hear about OTR making 100k+, but then it sounds like most truckers are lucky to make over 60k. What would a realistic salary look like that’s not the top 1%, that I could expect 3, 5, & 8 years in?

How “liveable” are OTR trucks? I was planning on living in a van to cut on expenses since I’ll rarely be home anyway, will I even need a van?
