CDL… Worth it?

I already paid the $3000 to “obtain” my CDL. Meaning they are going to train me for 6 Hours with the some pretrip every day just to PASS the exam.

I’ve been driving class 6 trucks for 6 years now (under 26k /w air brakes). I finally saved up enough money to go get the big boy license. These new regulations be costly $$$.

So let’s say I somehow pass my exam, what are my options?

6 years of driving commercial trucks, straight and combos (under 10k combos).

Am I worthy of landing a gig like dump truck? I’m getting my Class A manual, but I guess my dream job would be tanker Hazmat, but they are really strict, so I want to build up.

I won’t do OTR because my current job has me working like that and I want a home life balance.

Any advise helps!
