CDL-A Pintle Restriction

Hi All. May be a silly question but figured I’d ask. Wondering if anyone in NH would know if you have to go back to school and re do the entire exam (pre trip, etc) to remove a pintle restriction on my current CDL A? I’ve been told by a school (who mentioned the state trooper they use giving the exam) said you need to essentially re do it all but also called the DMV and they said it’s just the fifth wheel inspection and road test.
