Hey there fellow drivers. Long time since I posted here. I have been out of the driver’s seat for about 3 years now. My wife has a job transfer taking us to Chicago in May 2023. There’s a good chance we will wind up staying there for some years after the wife’s training is finished.
I’m strongly considering going back to driving as a career option. When I did drive commercially, I ran the 37 eastern with Schneider and then did regional New England for a Target account. I enjoyed it well enough but I’d like to make some real money as a company driver but also come home every night. Now, I’m more strongly considering tanks and flatbed/heavy haul as money-making options. I have tank, double/triple, and hazmat endorsements.
So for you all who live in the Midwest, who (and why) do you consider to be the best local and regional companies?
