I’m dealing with a bad situation at my current job (which I love) but my manager has a personal vendetta against me. They have started writing me up for crazy petty stuff and I’ve never in years been written up for anything. Just get the sense they are gearing up to get rid of me since the company’s slow season is starting.

I’m definitely looking for other jobs but I’m wondering how much it would affect my future job prospects if i were to be fired. This is the only trucking job I’ve had and I’ve been here 5 years.

I really don’t want to leave, I have unbelievable PTO, but I don’t want to just wait around to get fired if that’s their intention. How much would getting fired affect future job prospects? Do they need to know?
