Becoming a trucker to travel

Hello, 26, no romantic partner, no kids, no pets… living in apartment with roommates and currently working in I.T. as a Helpdesk analyst making 56K a year. Thinking of becoming a trucker to travel. I don’t mind driving and being on the road, and have no real responsibilities. Was thinking of going to a trucking school where they train you and pay for you to go to school for them as well.

Questions:

1. What are pros and cons of trucking?
2. Will I actually be able to travel?
3. What is best company to work for as a new driver that’ll pay well and also pay for schooling?
4. Is this a stupid idea to switch careers?
