So I’ve been trucking for about 10 months. At my 1-year mark I was going to try to see if I could get an upgrade with my job. Right now I’m currently working 5 12 hour days, overnight, for Amazon. The pay is okay I guess, but 12 hours is just torture when trying to manage at home life as well. Obviously I thought I would truck through it my first year to just get the experience and money coming, but I just have to know, are there any jobs that have five 10-hour days or 8:00 to 9 hour days? That’s still pay just about what I get now or a little more? For a reference, I make around 900 if I work 4 days and 1200 if I work five. I just want to make 1,000 or more at a nice drop and hook job so I can have even just a couple extra hours a day at home, but I hear for truckers it’s pretty hard to expect that. Does anybody know if this is a thing that works out eventually or do I need more experience? Or do I just need to find the right place. Obviously the more hours and stuff I work the better pay I get, but if I’m able to get 1,000 to $1,200 a week with the shorter amount of hours, obviously I’d prefer that lol.
