Anyone with a wife who is a nurse?

My wife has to work every other weekend and weekends are when I can get home. We have been getting into arguments about it.most of the time it’s her wanting me to maybe do home time when she’s off but I can’t. Just like she can’t choose to not work the weekends that are scheduled to her

I haven’t been at this for long, but this is really starting to drive a wedge in my relationship. We have been married for 20 years and we never fight. Now all we do is fight. I’m retired military so she can handle it when I’m away but I think this hits different

I don’t know what I’m asking, hoping someone has been there done that and has some advice.
