I’ve been thinking about getting my CDL and getting into this line of work, but as a woman who would be driving solo, my family is worried about my safety. I’m not super worried about the driving part of the job – I’ve driven for work before (although not such a large rig) and I enjoyed it and am confident in my abilities if I get certified. Anyone have any advice or stories to share about the safety aspect? How safe are truck stops? Do women who drive experience a lot of harassment or is that a groundless stereotype? Don’t mean to offend anyone here, but figured if anyone knows, y’all would.
