Another ‘Do I need a CDL’ post. (business owned truck and trailer / driving is not nature of business)

Hi all,

My family and I are looking into full time RV living, however, I am also looking to start an insurance agency as well. I am exploring the idea of buying the truck and fifth wheel in the name of the business to use as a tax writeoff, as I will have my remote office within the fifth wheel, and will have marketing on the truck and (maybe) the fifth wheel. (I still need to workout whether this would qualify as a tax writeoff, since there is personal use involved).

My question to you all today is whether a CDL would be required in this situation, because, although driving on the road would 100% NOT be the nature of the business, the truck and rv are business owned.
