So first off i am company. I was dispatched on a load going through my terminal so i decided to stop in and get everything updated. Permit book, ifta stickers, and the annual inspection that hasnt been done since 2021. I am a new driver and just picked up this recovery unit a few weeks ago. Well i figured that the inspection would be done same day. Well they found a bunch of leaks, bad seals, brakes out of adjustment and such. Now im 2 days behind on my pickup, and my DM is not happy with me. Being a Professional driver its my job to make sure the truck is 100% no? I feel like i made the right call here. Losing out on a preplan is better than violations right?
