Seriously what is the appeal of Washington state? The I5 corridor (which is where most of the population and thus trucking is) is far too crowded and lacks any decent rest areas or truck stops. The few that exist are way too small and fill up pretty quickly. The roads are bumpy as hell (and i’ve been to Michigan and Indiana) and the Seattle metropolitan area is always busy during daylight hours. You pretty much have to drive over night if you wanna get through the state.
I can’t speak for much of the I90 area, but whenever I go there it’s the same: lacking in rest areas and truck stops. Not as busy as the i5 so I guess thats a plus.
And if you wanna talk about scenery… like 2/3rds of the state is covered by the Columbia plateau: a flat plain. And even along the I5 most of what you see is just the gray concrete infrastructure that makes up the I5. To be fair i grew up in BC so i’m kinda used to a similar landscape.
But seriously am i the only one who doesn’t like driving there? I pretty much only drive there overnight to avoid heavy traffic and guarantee a legal place to park, but during the daytime i feel like ripping my hair out dealing with Washingtons bullshit.
