My company’s truck doesn’t allow for manual regens, because. I got up this morning with a regen indicator, but I couldn’t regen, because the truck wouldn’t let me, and had to go to my delivery.
Flash forward 5 minutes and I’m in LA going west on 10 and it’s shut down. I couldn’t find this out, because I have T-Mobile and it’s literally hot garbage in California, it would not load maps.
So here I am in bumper to bumper with no shoulder and my engine decides that, since I haven’t done a regen yet, it needs to do one this second and the indicator for shutdown in 120 seconds comes on. So I decided to keep putting the parking brake on and letting it regen while the cars in front of me take every inch of space and slowly edge forward. I let them get about a truck length in front of me and drive forward resetting the shutdown timer and giving me 120 seconds to race to the car in front of me so I can put the parking brake on and let it start the regen process.
This went on for about 20 minutes until I saw a small cut out that I could pull into and let the truck regen. When I got within 1 car length of it and was almost free… My truck decided it had finished with the regen process. Great, I guess.
Oh, and my delivery unloaded the wrong god damn load and I have to sit here until Monday to go pick it up. So I got stuck in traffic to just have to turn around and go back to the truck stop I had just left.
