So right now I’m getting my two years at a reefer place. I have a good record thus far, about the worst it gets are 2 fender benders that I reported from my end but never heard of again. I mention this because I figure to get into the more ‘niche’ sides of trucking requires a pretty damn can record. I’m also not auto restricted.
What I wonder is, is there really any way to get into it from being a company driver? A lot of the cattle haulers I see seem to be owner operators and they almost always own flat-top Peterbilts.
I live in Western NC btw, up in the mountains, I would like to be based out of where I live but afaik cattle hauling is more of a Midwest/Texas thing.
