I like the idea of earning a CDL class A then renting a tractor/trailer and driving it across the US. I have the option of taking time off of work and completing a 3-4 week truck driving course. Then taking some additional time to drive a truck around the US for a few weeks. Then drop off the rental and that’s it. Maybe rent another truck a year or two later for a similar road trip.
This might sound weird, but I’ve never been a sit-at-the-beach kind of person. I’d much rather go do something challenging, study, practice and learn how to drive a truck. There’s a school in my area so the cost would be fairly similar to 4-6 weeks of traditional vacation.
What are the pitfalls or issues for an interloper like me?
