Hi there. I’m a relatively new cat owner (owned for a little over a year and a half). I have two cats, a small female feral-born longhaired calico named Jupiter and a male domestic shorthaired tabby named Sebastian.
I’ve just started a new career as an OTR trucker and I want to bring my fiance and my cats with me while I truck. I was wanting to know if there is anyone here who could give me some advice on how to care for them on the road and how to keep them happy and healthy. I worry about their anxiety (Sebastian was a quarantine kitty who gets anxious and has attachment issues) and their health coming around to different parts of the country.
Here are the conditions of my life, job and my truck:
– I need to bring them with me as I don’t want to board them. I would feel extremely neglectful if I did.
– my boss doesn’t care about pets at all, and has told me he has no pet policy so anything is on the table as long as they don’t destroy anything
– I plan to harness train them both as well as get non-dust litter (like pine crumbles)
– Sebastian needs a water fountain to drink enough water
– I am willing to put whatever budget that’s necessary on the table to keep them happy and healthy.
Any advice would be great help!
