Non trucker here, but I follow the sub because my 10-year-old is obsessed with trucks and has had a consistent dream for years of someday becoming a truck driver. I appreciate your sharing around here, and my son especially loves dash cam videos and cab/sleeper photos.
Any words of wisdom or advice for a 10-year-old who hopes to one day count himself among your highly regarded ranks?
We don’t know any truckers irl, so I appreciate these passing connections here, and the many long conversations y’all lovingly engage with my son at rest stops when time allows. I know you all are busy out there, but it means so much to him and makes his day when he’s able to have those conversations. Over a year ago he met a trucker in Montana hauling a helicopter that ran out of flight hours pre-inspection to a mechanic in the Seattle area, and my son still talks about it at least weekly.
