Advice for a new driver?

Leaving the oilfield after 5 years to be a full time driver for a smaller family owned company. I’m excited but nervous as I’ve never driven full time except for Frac Equipment and misc stuff.

I know I’ll be taking a substantial paycut, $140k to roughly $60k(ish) but I’m home every night with weekends and holidays off, which is nice as I haven’t been home for Christmas or my sons birthday since he was born.

What advice would you have for a new driver? What would you have done differently if you could go back in time and start fresh?
