I have tried every trick in the book, i cant bypass the idle shutdown.
Cruise control disabled,
Cant raise idle,
Leaving brakes off wont work,
Rock on throttle wont work,
Disconnected thermometer in the mirror,
It wont even idle when its 95 degrees. The bunk as some auxiliary AC unit and it sounds like a fucking air compressor that goes off under me on and off all night long and wakes me up constantly. Then if im taking a longer break, the low voltage beeper comes on and wakes me up too and i have to turn the truck on to charge the batteries and obviously 5 minutes wont do enough so then im fucked without AC i would have to sit there and babysit the throttle for a half hour and lose more sleep.
Company i work for leases the trucks through Ryder. Other drivers i work with have older cascadias that will idle, im the only one here who cant. I asked them at my last PM visit to turn it off and they just said theyre not allowed to do it anymore.
What the fuck am i supposed to do? Im losing sleep, i cant keep getting woken up by that AC compressor kicking on every 10 minutes next to my head. Its summer, i need this truck to idle. I did tell them it wont idle above 80 degrees and they didnt care.
