Been looking at trucking schools in my area and looks like there are two kinds: 160 hour schools and 1-3 week schools. The 160 hour schools cost around twice as much as the 1-3 week schools, but it also seems better since you’ll get those 160 hours of supervised training.
I don’t know which to choose, because I don’t understand just how it will affect the job search. I guess 160 hour programs will in general look better to employers, but how many of them really consider this when looking at candidates? Is there anything else I’m missing?
I know that it’s better to get training sponsored by a company, but I’m in a part of the country that most companies black out and I’m stuck here for a month. I want to make the most of it before I move.
